<<Dell has traditionally traded at 5.4X revenue to market cap, translated to current price would be $63. >>

Great post Darrell. We keep hearing that DELL is evolving into more of an internet firm. Yet, many of my very successful internut stocks seem to have no trouble commanding a market cap of 50-100 times revenue (AOL and CMGI are great examples). Wouldn't it seem that as DELL transforms their business and takes it to a new level that....the ANALysts should consider a MUCH HIGHER valuation as "appropriate"???....

Just Thinking Out Loud...

Regards,

Scott

Geeez Darrell that was a mouth full.<vbg>

I don't know you know this but I don't listen to the guy or the likes of him, well I take it back, I listen but never act on their recommendations. I like you analysis better than his anyway.

Though I don't agree with Kumar's price predictions and some of the other things he said, to be fair, he did say for Dell growth would come from the enterprise segment along with peripherals and international expansion. I thought he said something like for every dollar spent on the hardware people spent another 2 to 3 dollars on software and peripherals, sounds good to me, with the gigabuys deal along with Dell's foray into storage and enterprise segment the company can only flourish in the coming years, not forgetting of course the share gain through international expansion.

Much obliged for your input.
