Apparently, Abbot's vaguely conservative estimates of market size disappointed BTIM, too:

$400 million is near the top end of what I've heard, and the stock is responding. Who's right? Time will tell. I'd have to do some DD to find out why Gensia has had such poor performance in marketing a similar product. Perhaps they had tried to beat big pharma with a product that sounds little different from what big pharma was itself selling, instead of joining them as BTIM has with a product that has some differentiation? If anyone knows the story, I am curious. Else I'll try to run it down myself next week.
