LOD and all- it's especially good since it includes the monitor, which many of the competitor's quotes do not. IMO DELL is wise not to jump any lower in the margin chain to the sub $600s right now. the "wait and see" posture makes a lot of sense, and gives indication that the other dimensions of the biz are in fact "firing on all cylinders," and that there are plans for other more profitable ventures (such as the servers, growing new mkts, IBM deals, etc).

BTW, i particularly liked Kevin Rollin's reiteration that last Qs disappointment in revs was simply a matter of not executing the model properly...in other words, they know what they did wrong and it ain't gonna happen AGAIN!

take care, GR

MD said today he was very excited with the increase in sales with the sub $1000 market.

He said sales were far ahead of expectations.

I also believe...and I may be wrong, that he said sales of a sub $600 or $500 pc were also above expectations.

Again...never bet against Michael Dell. While everybody was having a fit in the mid $30's, calling for DELL's demise, I for one did not panic and saw it as a buying opportunity....unfortunately, well not really <<ggg>> , when I wen't to buy more...AOL dipped down to $117 at the same time and I ended up buying more AOL....no worries though, I still have plenty of DELL, and in fact have never sold any except to buy some AOL and some LYCOS, which both turned into big money makers for me...out of Lycos now, but have lots and lots of AOL and DELL...
