CRUISING TO ALASKA & LEARNING THE POINT & FIGURE METHOD (you should be able to get CFP credit for this course) Traditionally we have conducted the Dorsey, Wright Point & Figure Institutes in Richmond, VA the location of our home office. However, we are going to be trying a new venue for a seminar and that is on a cruise ship. We are working with a company named University at Sea to hold a Dorsey, Wright Point & Figure Institute while on a cruise. University at Sea specializes in setting up the meetings aboard cruise lines. They do all types of conventions and meetings. The ship, the Ryndam Holland Line, will be leaving from Vancouver on Sunday, August 15th at 5:00 p.m. The ship will then sail up to Valdez finally stopping at Seward on Sunday, August 22nd. From there you will take a 3 hour bus ride going through a National Park back to Anchorage, Alaska where you can catch your flight home. You may also choose to take excursions from that ride back to Anchorage. Along the way, we will be conducting a Dorsey, Wright Point & Figure Institute. The times of the seminar are scheduled so that they won't interfere with the port stops. The seminar will encompass 10 hours of actual teaching time along with a small cocktail party and the ability to meet informally with Jay Ball and Tammy DeRosier who will be teaching the course. Below is a schedule of events for the cruise. As with our Broker Institutes here in Richmond, the course will be interactive in that we will teach topics and then provide actual working examples to test your knowledge. Cost: The cost of the cruise begins at $1489 per person for a Inside Standard Stateroom plus port charges of $210 per person plus your airfare to get to Vancouver and back home. That fee includes the 10 hours of training from Dorsey, Wright and all of the informational manuals we will pass out at the seminar. If you are bringing someone with you for the cruise but they are not attending the seminar, you can deduct $250 for that person but they still count toward the 30 people booked under the Dorsey, Wright name. Booking: Booking the cruise is handled through University at Sea and their number is 800-926-3775. We need at least 30 people to make the seminar a go and we have to those people signed up by the end of the May. If for some reason 30 people did not sign up, you could still go on the cruise but we would not be holding the seminar or you could cancel your reservations. Deadline: You have until the end of May to book to the cruise. The response has been tremendous so far. We have had numerous requests and quite a few people have booked the seminar. More Information: Visit University at Sea's website for Dorsey, Wright at universityatsea.com It's going to be a great cruise and a great seminar. Below we have outlined the itinerary along with the Point & Figure Institute Schedule. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact Tammy.
