Perhaps there are some RDMBS systems that support Linux, as well. There's a list of currently available applications on linux.org. A list of RDBMS packages (but excluding the big names) is here: linux.org Oracle isn't in the list, but they've announced that 8i will be available real soon now: oracle.com Informix supports it: informix.com And Sybase: sybase.com I don't know about DB2 since IBM's site search wasn't working when I tried it. Hmm... [edit] Got to it. And yes, DB2 is also available for Linux: software.ibm.com

Mr. DownSouth, . Does anyone know if Oracle, Informix, Sybase or some other enterprise or workgroup RDBMS which supports Linux? Oracle is putting out a version to run on Linux. Ellison is doing everything possible to hurt MSFT. He set a goal for his company in 92 or 93 to be bigger than MSFT at the end of this decade. Apparently he failed big time. Thank You JK
