Not quite. You need to subtract off the debt. Cash is meaningless. Net cash is what matters. Just look at WDC.

Tech, Certainly the cash is important, and the fact that cash flow is strong and they have added over $300 million in the second half of CY98 to effectively pay for ATL is a good thing. But cash burns quickly in this business, as you know. When it goes, it goes fast. Far more important are things like getting the 6.8gig disk out the door successfully (their first GMR desktop product), and having TiVi's digital recorder be successful. The WSJ had an article on it on page B1 today. Mixed review at best, some good features, but the author recommended the competing product. Turns out you don't have to pay the $10/month fee, you can pay a "lifetime" fee of $199, which prices the box at the same level as the competing box from Replay (about $700).
