SonnyBlue, These patterns have been building for months. The market volatility of the past couple of months is caused by prices working through different areas of consolidation. Prices break through one area, begin to take off, only to run into another area of contention. Eventually you arrive at a place (like now) when prices finally take out the last remaining obstacle - previous record highs. The DOW, NAZ and S&P did that this week. All of this info is available on the chart. That's why I've felt that we were at a critical point in the market. Regards, SO
