Wily Re <<Should we feel threatened?>>

Nope. Micron is too far behind to be a factor anytime soon. I am not worried about them at all.

Neo Magic's biggest threat continues to be Trident and ATI in the short term. In the long term I am most concerned about NSM and Intel and their plans regarding this market. Intel makes both the mother board and the CPU. They represent a real threat if they choose to enter this market. NSM and their "system on the chip" is also a concern.

I am a little skeptical about the idea of integrating all the graphics functions into the CPU. It just seems to be too costly to manufacture due to yield concern. IDT the maker of winchip recently announced that they are abandoning their plans to integrate the graphics functions into the chip.
