Looks like IRID is getting new life breathed into it by the market. Does anybody know what is making it move? Is it the DOD deal? Anyway, if this company can survie 1999, then it may have a real chance at becoming a long term play. Let's see what happens.

IRID: $70 by 10/8/00

I don't do technical analysis, as I don't beleive in predicting short term prices (more power to you though!) but on the fundamentals this stock will be above $70 a share within 18 months. (probably within 12, but I'll hedge this prediction a bit)

The reality is that the core customer (Who cannot get enough Iridium phones right now) is american and european businessmen working overseas from their home office in a country that is developing, but lacks good phone service. There are a couple million people like this out there.

Over the next 18 months, there is going to be no competition for Iridium for this market. This is because Inmarsat isn't usable enough, and Globalstar will NOT have the coverage at that point.

After that point the market dynamics change and Globalstar will start to quickly pull ahead... but for the world travelling businessman who needs to be able to get in touch with others from remote areas, there is no real choice.

Feel free to flame me in October, 2000. Otherwise I have to wonder if you'll even be around here then when it hits that price.
