A great post: >>IDT shorters are going to DIAL 911 before 2000 Posted: 3/23/99 2:18:07 AM (EST), By: cyberman456 Re: 'DIAL 911 for IDT' iionline.com Chances are whoever shorting IDT will dial 911 before 2000. During 1998, IDT handled over 10% of the total internet calls placed. Both users and minute-used numbers are skyrocketing, rising over 300% year over year. This proves that an increasing number of PC's around the world are multimedia-equiped. The writer is steeply underestimating this potential global market. That number will only continue to grow exponentially before year 2000 as PC prices drop and more people can afford to upgrade their systems. People upgrade their computer system not just because they can make a cheap phone call but also PC's are such great versatile tools or toys! :-) I and many of my friends use IDT's service for both domestic and international calls to Asian countries. We have all found that the voice quality has improved dramatically over the last couple of months as IDT is aggressively expanding the network capacity. We are all very satisfied users and are sticking with IDT's service. Adding to that the recent strategic moves will secure a dominant position for IDT on the net. Now IDT can count Geocities, RealNetwork, Yahoo, Excite, and Netscape among its exclusive partners. With the combined reach of world-wide internet users for these portals at over 80%, Net2Phone definitely has the widest distribution. It's got a first-mover advantage over any other net phone companies that we know of. My prediction is that after the recent billion-dollar deals between Yahoo and Geocities, AT & T and TCI, possible Yahoo and Broadcast.com, IDT will be a natural target for companies such as AOL or YAHOO which would like to keep the users on the net as long as possible to acquire IDT for its technology, which allows users to make phone calls while they are on the NET. NET RULES!!!!!!!!! BOTTOM LINE Recently, AT & T and TCI's AtHome announced that they will provide phone service over cable systems. To compete effectively and keep users on the net, both AOL and Yahoo will start a bidding war to acquire net phone companies such as IDT. This will handsomely reward the shareholders in IDT. My Target: IDT will be at $100 by year end. Mark my word. NET RULES!!!!!!!!! cyberman456 signed <<
