My recollection is that the prognosticators of such things, ie number of subscribers, Jupiter and/ Forrester have talked about 1 mil. by year end. That estimate is probably slightly conservative from data fed to them by ATHM who would show greater credibility by erring low. They should show 10% above expectations, therefore my WAG is 550k. lnk

Ed, In order to maintain their growth momentum, I feel 500,000 is a must-reach number. Otherwise, I kind of worry if they can attain 1 mil by the end of the year. I really hate TCI not acting up. Otherwise they can help the bottom line a lot. April 15 is a big day for me.

Granted if ATHM fall short of that number, I would still hold on to the stock. Normally the growth is not linear. They must reach a critical mass, such as 1 mil, to cause an explosion later. Like AOL, most of the growth happened in 97 and 98. So most of ATHM's growth will most likely comes in 2002, 2003.
