How many of us seriously expected CPQ to report a good earnings ? Not me, and I don't think many people of Wall St. did. CPQ has become the dog on the Street since they bought Digital (Nasdaq: DEC).Yes, the computer sales has slowed down, but CPQ has its own problem. Remember the huge inventory problem they had last year. Also, as I recall, Compaq released a warning on slow computer sales about a month ago, which pushed its price down to the 30+ from 40+. In my opinions, Monday may not be as bad as many of us thought.

I can see other PC makers, such as DELL, IBM, GTW get hit because of "guilty by association." If it spills over to other stocks such as our beloved AOL, it probable will not be that bad. Any pullback is a good buying opportunity. Expect technology issues to bounce back immediately because Intel reports in the middle of the week, and many are expecting it to be a good report.

I am so glad I own AOL because regardless of who wins the PC war, the user will likely sign up with AOL.

Don't worry ! We are having a winner here.
