Mr. Mitch Blevins,

But why would you run NT on it as a server (as opposed to Digital Unix)?

We use the NT/Alpha box as our application server. Due to the application being ran, some of the processes did not run on Unix boxes. In a client/server environment and the tools you are using will dictate how you run the applications.

The only reason to run NT as a server is that you can pass down the hardware to a secretary to run as a desktop machine once it gets outdated.

Absolutely not true, not even close to being accurate. I detect a hint of prejudice in your statement. But to say the least, your statement is wrong, inaccurate, unknowledgable and down right incorrect.

>>NT was easier to administrator and much lower cost<<

This is a common misperception (easier to administer), but is fading rapidly.

Your lower cost claim is just silly.

Well the only place that this is fading rapidly is in your mind. Even though you don't agree with it, sorry but the lower cost claim is not fading and it is not a misperception.

Thank You

JK
