Man,

You guys and your horror stories about online brokers. I sense the trend is still intact so I will remain with my old-fashioned full-service guy. He can't wait to get a call from me on most days. Orders go right through. If his firm makes a market in the stock he lets me know and I can almost always buy at the bid in that case. Commissions are higher, yes but just as with most things, you get what you pay for.
Fidelity has online trading...it's a bit more expensive than these $10 to $15 per trade guys but the service is also at a higher level. Since it's a bit more per trade, there's less people bogging down their server at any given time. I know a person that uses them and they're happy as can be with it.
