Re:Bill, it's 1999, still premature?

James: A year has past since that post, and needless to say, UTEK has significantly underperformed the SP, and most other equities. There has been much discussion on this thread, the SI UTEK thread, and Kirk's Suite101 UTEK thread on the overall wisdom of Brinker's recommendation. More importantly, the thoughtful discussion has focused on the "where do you go from here" question.

I must admit that I still hold some UTEK shares, and have contemplated purchasing more, at these low prices. I think that when (or IF) UTEK's product comes to market, the stock will see a nice rise. Whether or not the product comes to market, or whether the marketplace will want to buy the product when it appears, is very much in question, IMHO. OBVIOUSLY Brinker missed the timing.

I view my current UTEK holdings, at less than 2% of my overall equity positions, as a long-shot potential. Either way, I am not losing any sleep over this investment.

Regards...Bill S

Jerry made a return appearance Saturday. I am sure it was the same Jerry who Bob told him a year ago that UTEK was a 1999 stock. I believe UTEK was 22 about that time(Now 13ish, now 1999).

Jerry sure does make me wince when he calls and puts Bob on the spot.
