Microsoft Canada Co. channel marketing manager Cheryl Breukelman said a Canadian on-line store, modelled after Shop.microsoft.com, is slated to open this summer and will have a different URL.

At press time, the U.S. Web site had four participating resellers -- Beyond.com, CDW, CompUSA and Insight -- with additional ones promised over the next few months. Breukelman said Canadian resellers haven't been formally signed up yet.

"We're in the last phase of finalizing the business requirements for participation, but we've been working closely with four partners," Breukelman said. She said the four resellers include Softchoice, Business Depot, Multimicro, and Microforum/IFront.

"It's not an exclusive process," she said. "Over time we'll introduce other channel partners. But it's pretty high-bar for technical requirements. It will depend on the reseller's capability as well as their willingness and eagerness to take advantage of the opportunity."

Brad, Guess they have to time you out to lesson server load so I understand that, but they could still find a way to make re-entry less cumbersome, and speedy.
