****OT**** "In all due respect, you have contributed nothing but cheerleading, why should I do what you suggest??

Michael- Cheerleader? What...you've seen my legs? Dang! I thought only people in Iowa were aware of those suckers! I am an ATHM cheerleader. Am I in love with the stock? Hell, I'm married to it! I first had a blind date with ATHM in October of '97. We dated for awhile and broke up in the summer of '98. I proposed late last fall, and we were married on Dec. 21st. If this love affair is anything like my wife of 20 years, we will be together for a long time.

Seriously...you may call it cheerleading, I call it countering pessimism with optimism. I just try to balance some of those gap 20 pt. down predictions with where I truly believe (after all of the data and news!) ATHM is going. I predict that it has a bright future. If I didn't, there never would have been a second date. Do I believe in cutting ties with a stock. Yes. I would do that with ATHM too if I truly felt I wanted to be the first rat jumping from a sinking ship. ATHM is not a sinking ship. It is a cruise ship that will occasionally hit some choppy waters. I see smooth waters ahead.

****Totally OT**** Last summer I built a limestone retaining wall in my backyard. I move nearly 20 tons of limestone, 10 tons of gravel, and 7 tons of sand (in a wheelbarrow) straight up a hill around 100 feet to the backyard. People thought I was nuts, especially since I had just gotten out of a cast from a fracture. (Which BTW it hasn't healed.) It wasn't easy making it up that steep incline. I'm glad I didn't have pessimists standing along the side of the driveway telling me it couldn't be done. I knew the effort was ONE wheelbarrow at a time. ONE stone at a time. I knew I could do it. I had faith...I had optimism.

ATHM is cut from the same thread. It has a tough hill to climb. Who ever said they didn't? They are going to climb that hill and install ONE subscriber at a time. It is not going to happen over night. My wall didn't take me one day. But when I look in the backyard, I see this gorgeous wall and waterfall. I think back about the people who said I could not do it. "It is not achievable to do on your own," they said. I proved the pessimists wrong, and ATHM will do the same.

Besides...my cheerleading brings out debate and cold hard (sometimes chilling) facts. That is good. Maybe I contribute something even though it's only .0000001 of what others offer.
