Good for you, DownSouth. You're right. I follow about 30 threads and am sick of wasting my time on this one. (For what it's worth, I've been a Cisco long for about 5 years now.)

I'll probably stay and lurk, mostly, but I just click the NEXT button anytime I see the name "jach" in either the poster or the postee.

CISCO continues to strengthen its position within Asia.

HONG KONG, CHINA, 1999 APR 8 (NB) -- By staff, IT Daily. Hongkong
Telecom is conducting trials of an Internet Protocol-virtual private
network (IP-VPN) service based on Cisco [NASDAQ:CSCO] IP QoS
(quality of service) and MPLS (multi-protocol label switching)
technologies.

Cisco's MPLS technology is designed to improve the performance,
manageability and scalability of IP networks.

Initially, the Hongkong Telecom trial will involve the implementation
of Tag Switching Protocol technology, pioneered by Cisco, and a variety of Cisco switching/routing hardware in the core and access layers.

IP-VPN and differentiated QoS are the key building blocks around
which future IP services will be based. The objective of the current
Hongkong Telecom trial is to demonstrate how MPLS can make IP-VPN
and QoS provisioning more cost-effective.

By conducting this trial, Cisco says it is helping Hongkong Telecom and Cable & Wireless quickly deploy the advanced IP services customers need in order to gain a true competitive advantage in the developing business environment.

#1, Gates #3 and so on. Interesting narrative.
