Here's an interesting post from the yahoo board:

A follow-up to my earlier msg -- Here's where the volume on AXC fell year to date:

Vol%|Price Range (Year to Date) AXC
10% $4.76 to $5.625 (note: 52 wk high 5 5/8 on 1/28/99)
07% $4.26 to $4.75
25% $3.51 to $4.00
20% $3.01 to $3.50
19% $2.51 to $3.00
15% $1.01 to $2.50
04% $0.90 to $1.00 (note: 53 week low $11/16 on 10/8/98)

Additional notes:
* Rough average price paid for AXC ytd is about $3.25 per share
* Approximately 42% of the trades were above $3.50 -- a floor?
* The 17% of the long volume traded between $4.26 and $5.625 will provide some selling/resistance (a ceiling?) on the way up as it did today with the high peaking at $4 7/16 ($4.438/share)-- The shorts are likely pushing the stock down at or just below $4.50 -- Easiest to spot the shorts and day traders when the trades starting swithcing from 1/16th's to 1/32nds's, or even 1/64th's for stocks selling below $10/share
* Today's resistance level is tomorrow's floor!
