There are many different niches in the telecom semiconductor industry and to say that thre are 20 to 30 companies selling the same stuff is wrong. Even when the products are similar they are typically sold on the basis of technical features. Broadcom may well have competitiors but it is much different from the nature of competition that exists between, say, DRAM manufacturers. The fact that is does not have its own fab may well be a competitive advantage, not a liability. My own opinion. Len
