mohan.....<ot> you are right kind sir...

if you've spent time in japan...it is easy to see they are consummate savers...it's ingrained, they had "jobs for life", strong loyalty and work ethic...much as we were up until the sixties...they are where we were in the seventies....a psychological change....as we had post viet nam....many "enterpeneurs" and women executives....a concept foreign to the culture 20 years ago...

we try to analyse and judge all else as we are...but you know better my friend that cultures truly differ...we are a melting pot...nippon a monolithic society...not many "gaijins"....perhaps not so bad...but slow to make change...we a nation of individuals..they an individual nation....

we ask the nippon government to cut taxes, spur spending....things that we resist....and yet their interest rate hangs below 1%...

japanese did in fact come over with the checkbooks...rockefeller center, fine art, golf courses....but at the right time for us...wrong time for them....they are the best trading partners a business could have...i only wish our government would recognize...
they are us...fathered by demming...only not as mature...cheers, ed a.
