Just saw the co-CEO's of TheGlobe.com on CNBS. Both looked barely old enough to shave, and they were regurgitating the usual nonsense about their only revenues were from ads, but were leveraging the number of pageviews into..blah blah. It seems both were barely able to suppress grins of astonishment at their own good fortune...

I'm starting to understand, one must suspend disbelief, and ignore rigorous thinking.

Damn good summary of the situation.

I believe CNBS has been co-opted by its parent, GE, King of cookie jar reserve accounting and management of expectations. I was convinced when the tough guys like Neil Cavoto (sp) left and Mark Haynes did an abrupt about face. And the reason is quite simple. Individuals want to get rich quick while conditions allow this to go on. Very tough to pull back those option profits and bonuses when the music stops.

Mike, bravo! That about sums it all up. Would add about inflation numbers - does anyone really think that those numbers are not cooked like a Thanksgiving turkey? After all it was Slick who figured out early on that the key to his success was the bond market and the departments of labor and commerce are stuffed full of political cronies (look at where Ron Brown and John Juang were). What's a few cooked numbers in light of everything else?

This market reminds me of those damn beanie babies - just how much will someone pay for a polyster piece of crap stuffed full of plastic pellets?

Anyway, great post. Have a good weekend.
