Joan, they were questions designed to stimulate discussion from a woman whose opinion I value a great deal (yours), not points I necessarily believe in (I learned this technique from you when you would interview me!). I will respond with some thoughts after I have digested comments in full. I would like to make one point clear, however, and that is that I in no way condone what Milosevic has done, or has attempted to accomplish. In some respects I view the conflict in the Balkans in a similar light to the Spanish expulsion of the Moors in 1492, and the creation of the Inquisition designed to forcibly convert the Spanish Jews and steal whatever wealth they may have had. Here we seem to have multiple issues swirling, but it seems to me that at the root of it we have nationalism. I'm off to the hospital for a bit, so I cannot expand on this issue now. I hope to later.
