If OPEC only partially complies, the fundamentals would be favorable for a continued uptrend in crude prices. I base this on a study of the text of the recent speech by Matt Simmons in which he makes the case that the collapse in oil prices was based on erroneously reported oversupply.

Quoting from Matt Simmons' speech, "We might have accidentally
created a gigantic house of mirrors where bad data creates shorts on oil contracts,
which brings prices down, which creates even more bearish data!"

As Brent Hogenson stated in his post, this speech is a must read for all
interested in the oil and gas business.
