One answer I got was with the night phone answering being done with a recorder. When VSI was turned loose there was a short period where the operators were not there at night between certain hours due to letting those employees go. Now there are some there as the schedules have been altered. I don't know what to say if the recorder is still received at times unless the lines are busy or they are short staffed for some reason like an employee/s not showing. Admittedly there is very little activity for the operators during those hours as the system is automated and most people are off line and/or not inclined to call then. The operators are being given other tasks to keep them busy during those hours such as researching further contacts for the sales dept.
