Mainly off topic, lost on the due diligence trail:

When you are hiking...maybe scrambling off
the trail to go up to a viewpoint...there
sometimes comes a realization that, although
you know where you want to be, you are,
temporarily, but completely...lost.

I have that feeling this morning as it sit
in my office, listening to my printer pound
out a list of companies looking for cancer
cures (specifially, gene therapy>oligonucleotides.)

I got confused back on another trail, lost my way,
and did not recall that OSIP does indeed have an
anti-angio inhibitor--could not figure out why the
dang thing was running. Should have just sat down
and spent an hour looking, but flailed around and
got even more lost.

So, I was thinking how is it I got to this point,
moving over to gene therapy for a moment, but
still dazed and confused.

I am standing on a rock, we will call it Valentis
(mbio)...there are other points down the hill,
one was Targeted Genetics, one Cell Genesys etc.

So I reach in my pack to get my scratch paper of
how to get to the ridgetop. It says get to the top
inexpensively--take the cheap trail (Genetic Therapy/
Sandoz/Novartis falls of the list. Take the trail
which logically might get to the top--the one the
scientists might take (--somehow awhile back I might
have been lead to gmed, maybe some comment a bio
guru mentioned, maybe my own DD). Then Avigen fell
off the list because its patent claims were so broad.
Avoid the trails that everybody likes--the ones the
analysts might take for instance, the view from there
is dangerous, you can find yourself falling, and you
all plunge together--Vical drops off.

These are the bizzare thoughts that go through my head
when I'm not occupied with other hobbies. Hope I'm not
creeping anybody out, I'm a very normal guy if you met
me...wife seems to think I'm not batty...

However, I do think I need to ease up from this stuff,
I don't have a Ivy League mind, sort of a B+ type of
state college brain. Anyway, I bought myself a copy
of Ultima Online, and I'm heading off to Britannia
for a month. Also, I have some reading to do--need to
re-read all those links that are on the new patent thread.

Here is the link for that in case folks don't have it yet.

I'm going to back off to no more than a single post a day,
that self imposed restriction will also help to reduce
the amount of noise I generate, god knows I'm guilty there!
