IMO, the really major news is the reason for the BEL contract - high speed access equipment. Some of the news stories have pointed out that Nortel has not had prior success with either high speed access equipment or selling to Bell Atlantic. Yes, Other major carriers like SBC, Ameritech, and GTE will be looking at this sale as evidence that Nortel has the right product mix.

Stocker; The same can be said for ALA. I agree P/E valuations for LU are way up. Did you observe yesterdays win had little or no impact on LU.

Now if NT's gain is another Vendors loss, who was the loser.?
