Trader Inc.: Yorkton Exercises Option
TORONTO, ONTARIO--

Games Trader Inc. is pleased to announce that Yorkton Securities Inc. has exercised its option to increase the size of the offering announced earlier this morning by an additional 500,000 special units. Games Trader will therefore issue 4,500,000 special units at a price of $3.15 per special units for gross proceeds of $14,175,000. Each special unit will entitle the holder to acquire, at no additional cost, one common share and one-half common share purchase warrant exercisable for two years. Each whole warrant shall entitle the holder to acquire one common share at an exercise price of $3.65.

The offering is expected to close on or about April 16, 1999. The Company will use its best efforts to obtain a receipt for a prospectus qualifying the distribution of the underlying common shares with 90 days following the closing date. In the event that a receipt for the prospectus is not obtained within this 90 day period, special unit holders will have the option to retract their investment plus interest. Completion of the special unit offering is subject to regulatory approval.

Proceeds from this offering will be used to fund acquisitions, implementation of the company's e-commerce initiative and for working capital.

GTR is a leading supplier of value-priced, previously played video games for Nintendo, Sega and Sony video games systems to mass merchant retailers and specialty retailers in the United States and Canada. The shares of Games Trader Inc. are listed on The Toronto Stock Exchange and trade under the ticker symbol ''GTR''.
