one perverse factor that may work to ALTS long term benefit is the Y2K effect. many, if not most enterpsie software companies, from ORCL, SAP, PSFT on down to DCTM etc., have been severely impacted by a slowdown in sales this year attributed to Y2K. While this won't help ALTS this Q or maybe next, it has put some of their client base on hold while they worked through their internal problems and so, by the time this kind of spending is really ready to roll again, ALTS and EB should be front & center.
