Interactive Predictions From C.E. Unterberg Forum

Speaking at the C.E. Unterberg Towbin Fourth Annual Satellite Conference in New York, EchoStar Director of Finance Rick Westerman told analysts to expect DISH's new interactive "on store shelves by May."

For DirecTV, President Eddy Hartenstein said that his platform's first interactive products will be out in the third quarter of this year.

In the gee-whiz category of new satellite services, Space Imaging CEO John R. Copple had a prediction for the near-term future of car navigation: Thanks to new imaging satellites capable of taking resolutions to one-meter, he noted, "you'll be able to get 3-D renderings of areas you're driving through in a couple of years."
