Answer:Exactly what part of the world does it cost $10 a minute to call from?

Dear Dragonfly:

If your Iridium Service Provider is Satellite Warehouse (http://www.satphone.net), check out their International call rate sheet at satphone.net and see how calls from Japan to the Africa 1 or Africa 2 regions are $10/min. But, be sure to not miss out that calls from the South America region to China are $11/min.

If your Iridium Service Provider is Project77 (http://www.project77.com), check out their International call rate sheet at project77.com and see how calls from South America to Japan are $10/min.

Best regards,
Geoff Goodfellow

I distinctly remember that ($7-10/min) was the charge when they started last fall. It could be cheaper now. I bet it would be $10 minute from the Andean foothills in Amazonian Ecuador.
