I am more concerned with Privacy and Security issues with the Internet than Y2K.

The disturbing thing about illegal unauthorized access into ones computer is you don't know how long they has access and what information was taken. I find this more serious of a problem than Y2K. But that's my opinion.

Another thing people don't when it comes to computers, is they are too lazy to back-up their data on a regular basis.

How much data and time has been spent on re-building hard drives or data after a crash? This happens every day.

Everyone who is new to computers are going to be thinking of Y2K, and put other more potentially serious problems on the back burner.

Y2K is just plain and simply over hyped.

In my humble opinion.

Cheeky -

Mitch Ratcliffe is the 1st true voice of reason.

He's off in MightySoft fantasy land.

For the umpteenth time...
(on a global basis)
- 12,000+ IBM MVS mainframes (big iron)
- 40,000 IBM DOS/VSE midrange
- 400,000+ IBM AS400 midrange
- 500,000 DEC VAX... err Compaq VAX
And not counting hardware from Bull, AT&T, Hewlett-Packar, Perkin-Elmer, Wang, Prime, Data General, Tandem, Sequent, Sun...

Found in an encyclopedia of desktop software...
- 3056 vendors
- 21,000 products (obviously not all business applications)

And then I know a fellow with a totally dead desktop accounting package for CP/M (remember when?)... he's still receiving commission checks from the forms suppliers.

Bottom line... Windows NT isn't all that relevant.
