NEW YORK, April 9 (Reuters) -

For the week of April 5, here are some of the top stories reported in major U.S. technology trade
publications. -----------

PC WEEK - Compaq Computer Corp. , one of the pioneers of the sub-$1,000 computers, unveiled its
ProSignia notebooks for small-to-medium size businesses, using chips from Intel rival Advanced Micro
Devices Inc. , according to the April 5 issue of PC Week. Depending on the notebooks' performance,
Compaq is considering using AMD processors for ProSignia desktops and servers.

Microsoft Corp. is working on upgrades for its Windows CE operating system and making it suitable for
desktoplike features on palm-size and handheld PCs--and even smart phones, according to PC Week.
Code-named Rapier, the program will add applications such as Excel and Word.

EE TIMES - Now that several router startups have tapped out the core backbone market for gigabit and
terabit speeds, a second wave of newcomers seeks to establish a space alongside Cisco Systems . The
new companies include Shasta Networks, Abatis Systems and MRV Communications .

INTERNET WORLD - Internet companies as diverse as MarketWatch.com and iVillage raced to take
advantage of a first quarter IPO environment that was the most buoyant ever known. INTERNET WORLD's
index of 50 Internet stocks rose by 91 percent during the quarter, far more than the Dow Jones Industrial
Average which was up 6.6 percent, or Nasdaq up 12.3 percent.

COMPUTERWORLD - Microsoft plans to release its Windows 2000 in October, but according to
Computerworld's April 5 issue, the software group will lack some integral management tools, including
Active Directory and Intellimirror. The article said the company is leaving out the tools to get the operating
system out the door and avoid criticism for further delays.

Benny, I saw your post on the Yahoo! thread where they were discussing
short interest. Here is the short interest data for the last 21
months. Although short interest was high in April '98, it dropped in
May, then rose much higher with the convertable debt.

We have now been slowly dropping for 5 months, but there is still a
10% short interest - enough to put some upside pressure on this stock
someday.
