Hi Doug,

All in all, it's a sale. Hopefully, COMS won't be taking US to a "Cruise to Nowhere". <g>

BTW, strong finish today. Perhaps we've seen the bottom.

Regards,
Pat

Thats part of the problem Doughboy, sales are quite pathetic, and its obvious by these "Band Aid" press releases. But the stuff I am hearing has to do with development. Everyone knows that one of their touted areas of strong future growth has been abandoned, namely Storage Area Networks. So we are down to 5 (Broadband and Wireless access, Carrier equipment (RAS), Handhelds, IP Telephony and Enterprise systems) Now I am hearing there is lot of unrest in divisions like Access where they are tired of being blamed and good people are quitting. Some other divisions are saying why arent they spun off since they are very profitable on their own. Middle management is being heavily shaken up especially in Illinois. But the root problem is not being looked at at all, Eric B. and the Yes Sir company.
My ASIC vendor contacts who deal with both Cisco and 3Com are telling me that there is utter confusion within 3Com. Unlike Cisco where projects are well speced out and aggressive program managers are in place the 3Com programs are unmanaged and in total disarray. Meetings are getting canceled or are scheduled erratically.
#2 networker ???? Taught me a big lesson in valuing companies and to remember these 3 words Management, Management and Execution.

I thank my stars I stuck to ASND heavily because similar information searching from within Ascend was always positive. On the same note I admit I did a much worse job on researching Cisco and got in too late.
