The Value Line comprises 1700 small/med caps and has broken out and it's likely the Russell will follow. I have RUT resistance at 406/408. VALUE LINE iqc.com I'd like to buy more puts here, but scared to, the market looks like it is breaking out of a cup with handle formation, and the financials are providing leadership. The breadth of the market is improving and the RUT is bouncing off lows. Is is a dead cat bounce for the RUT? Is it a bull trap? Good idea. I've been selectively picking up some oils which have good risk/reward. Going to sit on the sidelines and miss out on any upside, and jump in if a downward trend gets established. If and when we get downside, it's the brokers and financial stocks I'll be all over.

The only way I can see making money in brokerage stock puts in this market is if the market starts to crash. We can't time when the market is going to crash. We won't even know that a downtrend has been established until it is a bit too late to make money on it. We will be chicken. I'd say either find companies that can implode on themselves or wait until the next cycle uptrend. There is no limit to the top, but there is a limit to the bottom. Big Monday for INTC, an ever larger Tuesday. I am hoping to get out sometime next week if I can. BWAAAAK! BWAAAAK!
