Re: "I expect K7/K8 to be competitive with all of Intel's product line going out into the indefinite future. "

<I expect K7/K8 to be competitive with all of Intel's product line going out into the indefinite future.>

Perhaps you'd like to tell us what AMD plans are regarding the future of its sub-$1000 retail marketshare and how the K7 is going to fit in. (You said yourself that AMD needs to move out of the el cheapo retail segment.)

Perhaps you can tell us what AMD has planned for the K8.

Or how AMD is going to respond to IA-64. (Perhaps an alliance with Alpha?)

SCUM bria - Re: "The one glaring weakness of K7 is the long latency L2, but that should be fixed by the time Willamette comes out. "

You don't think the 184 sq. mm. die size is a weakness of the K7 ?
