brees,
Robert never answers a question with facts, only with some half baked fallacial argument intended to distract from the real question ala Joe Lockjawhart/Bill "parse" Clinton. He can't engage in a true fact based debate because he knows he can't win it.

<<In fact why don't we turn our country over to the United Nations forces. That
would be much easier since we are pretty much one and the same anyway.>>

At 1:43 P.M. Eastern Standard Time on March 24th, with American
bombers en route to Yugoslavia and just minutes before the first
explosions were reported on the ground in Kosovo, White House
spokesman Joe Lockhart explicitly admitted that the power to
take our nation into war had been surrendered to a foreign official —
namely, the NATO Secretary-General. Lockhart was asked by
correspondent Helen Thomas, "Who gives the green light on this
now? Is it the President himself, or the Supreme Commander of
NATO...?" Lockhart replied, "The Supreme Commander of NATO
acts on the authority of the political leaders of the NATO countries,
and he has that authority."

<< Milosevic has opened the borders and asked the Albanians to return to their homes. >>

I have never called you gullible before, but I am tempted to. How do we know that this is true? And, how do the brutalized Kosovo Albanians know that they will be safe, after 10 years of repression, followed by the current atrocities?

You must think that the slob Milosevic is a nice, trustworthy guy.

<< He has also called for peace with NATO ... >>

Did he do this from one of his million dollar yachts?

<< So you recommend Milosevich give up Yugoslavian control of Yugoslavia ... >>

It would be best for everyone if Yugoslavia was divided into separate Serbian and Muslim regions. Perhaps after the Serbs get decent government, the pieces would want to come back together.

<< ... but has anyone pointed out the relatively untapped billions of dollars of mineral reserves in the region ... >>

This is more of a reason to get rid of the Milosevic monsters and replace them with decent government. Why should Serbs and Muslims live in poverty when they shouldn't have to?

Perhaps one day slob Milosevic will take you to lunch on one of his yachts, or serve you dinner in one of his million dollar villas, or show you his multi-million dollar foreign bank accounts.

brees, how long have you had this level of love and respect for Milosevic?

>>Now I know you never answer real questions, but has anyone pointed out the relatively untapped billions of dollars of mineral reserves in the region. Do you think that has anything to do with our "national interests" Robert?<<

There is also a rumor that the EU wants to build a pipeline from Iraq, through Turkey and Bulgaria, and on through Yugoslavia. More and more it appears to be a strategic piece of real estate.

I would respect our leaders more if they simply said something like, "Yes, we need to build a pipeline through there and the place is chock-full of minerals. For these reasons we're going to colonize the region."

Instead they cover their motives with lies. This cannot go on forever.
