Ref. Rights -IPO's and Option Calls

From you Gentlemen who appear to have followed SFE for quite some time, I would be interested, in getting your opinion as to the impact of a rights or IPO announcement on the value and usefulness of SFE calls (let's assume deep in the money)

1) First, for shares, which date is retained as the date establishing the number of shares held for the purpose of issuing rights (date of announcement? date of IPO?, etc.)
2) Then, what happens to the value of calls and when (although I assume that if stock goes down, as it may, value of calls will go down and there is no direct manner in which to participate to the benefits of the rights/IPO - would this be correct?)

Thanks for comments

Michael,

How will the ICG IPO be structured? My guess. Issue 10 mil shares @ $20. Present owners will not sell their stake. All new money. These 10 mil shares will represent 20% of the company. Some of the 10 mil shares will be offered to SFE shareholders. This puts the market cap at 1 bil before trading starts. Under this plan SFE would own about 20% of ICG after the IPO. This is all speculation.
