>My bet's on cable for now.<

As has mine been from the lower thirties on ATHM.
Finally got the run I was hoping we'd get from ADSL Pat ;)
Also still holding on LONG to WSTL though I may live to regret it.

Hi Pat:

Its been so long since I thought about Amati but after seeing the spike in WSTL today decided to stop to track down some of the old threaders. Maybe its time to look into WSTL (At least they should still be using AMTX/TXN chips.) It appears AT&T is starting to wake up the telco's to the threat of cable.

Hope all it well.

Tim

Pat bet's on cable? It's been awhile since I checked into the old Amati board for old time sake. I found your bet on cable interesting. ADSL takes awhile doesn't it? But if you noticed the CLECS are moving fast such as Covad and Northpoint. During some heated discussion during the good old days I remember the conclusion was that Cable modem has a 1-2 year lead on ADSL but in the end their shared bandwidth would start causing problems and constraints. Do you think this is still true or is it irrelevant now?
