Interesting that Compaq is having problems while Dell says they're not...Dell sells 7X as many zips as does Compaq. At least IOM is in with the right company.

IOM proposed to me that part of Compaq's problems could be related to their Super Disk inclusion - I know, it's a far fetch. But, they said it, not me. Nevertheless, when you include such a VISIBLE item (like the Superdisk) which the market has clearly voted against in the past relative to sales, why does Compaq believe they will enhance sales or their bottom line?

They went with the superdisk ONLY BECAUSE IT COST THEM LESS - #1 REASON. They offered the contract to IOM, IOM rejected it as Compaq wanted IOM to sell them the Zip at below cost, and they wouldn't do it. Imation agreed to sell below cost as a gamble.

It appears now it ain't working for Compaq, at least for those retail models with the Superdisk.
