Bill this info(rates,etc.) is a bit old(edit: I see they updated) but it's worth reading,FWIW I use Tradewell,not the cheapest($20),but I have always been able to get through online ($5.00 more if you place by phone..) sonic.net

I have used Ameritrade for almost a year with no problems. $8 online trades, $12 touchtone, and $18 with a representative which is a must for BB stocks plus an additional $5 for limit orders. I have never used ETrade but have heard many complain about it.
