AMAT sells equipment that makes chips for everything from network and telecom equipment to cameras to cell phones to cars to computers, so they will do fine this quarter and this year, IMO. Overall chip sales are expected to be up this year, first year of a 3 year (at least) cyclical recovery (boom). AMAT's stockholders' meeting was as bullish as any I've ever attended. Compaq is an underachiever now, and not a good indicator of the PC industry. PCs and Intel will take a hit Monday, only temporary for Intel, I believe. Certain network companies and storage companies are kicking *ss. Have a good weekend.
