Jill, Not so sure Dell management will really pay for Compaq's problems. Watched Piper Jafry analyst on CNBC--Ashok Kumar who more or less that the problem is company specific. As it was pointed out, he sounded the alarm last November. He is a very smart analyst. The same guy who first warned of Dell's revenue slowdown.

The good thing is that he is positive on Dell's growth this quarter.
Furthermore, he is very positive on Intel's earnings this Tuesday. We all know Dell is an all Intel shop.

Believe it not, i am upset that he was so positive on Intel. I was looking for a big buying opportunity in Intel options early Monday morning. His comments might stop me from making that move, that is, Intel should not be hurt much by Compaq's announcment and IMHO, Dell won't be hurt either. Expecting sharp rebounds if there is a selloff early morning. MAYBE WE WON'T GET A SELL OFF AT ALL. I am leaning towards this point of view---or a selloff could be over by 10:00 AM on Monday and Nasdaq records may be set the same day.

Once Intel's earnings are out, watch for MSFT, Dell, and Gateway take off. I usually unload options before earnings release but will have to evaluate based upon price movements early part of the week.
