El...maybe CPQ and AMD could merge...there should be a cost savings since they should be able to consolidate the departments that issue earnings warnings...both companies should be expert (you would think...although they still mess it up) by now in the process, and a few jobs could be eliminated....also, they would only have to issue 1 warning for both companies since it would be the same company then....

jajajajajajajaja

Elwood ---Heard the news about CPQ --- I held the stock for nine months from Sept 1997 to Mar 1998 with you guys . Similar issues with credibility with the DEC merger going on ---EP taking a 70 million dollar bonus in 97 and the company stock going no where . I got out at 31 after buying in at 32 nine months earlier .
I do not think the company will grow until EP is gone ---an example was EP at the time I was in the stock was still not a believer of the direct market method . He is so slow in responding to the future ( but not firing other people for their lack of foresight ) that as long as he is at the helm CPQ is rudderless . The way they announced this shortfall is another example of his lack of giving a damn about the shareholder .

Wish you the best and hope your golf game is find

BEST WISHES

El,
Great minds think alike. A summer in the sun playing golf while the sick pig recovers.
