All,

Is it too late to recast the title of this thread? How about, Etec Systems moving down? Or maybe it's too late for that and the current title is appropriate from here. I got in at 24.

As ever, D

Now, they are selling 0.25 micron machines. But in order to produce the mask for the next generation design (0.18 micron), companies have to buy the BRAND NEW pattern generation machine. Do you get it? 0.25 micron machines will eventually be replaced by much faster (in term writing speed = $$) and more advanced machines. They used to sell for $5-6 millions and now $10-15 millions per machine.

Also, today's stock action has triggered my MSN investor Alert. ETEC has just gone above its 13-week trading average and its trading volume is triple (2M) its normal volume. Price is 14% up from Thursday's close. This implies that ETEC is under heavy accumlation. History is repeating itself once again. Last time (Oct 98), I missed the boat when it went all the way down to $14 something, but not this time.
