As a new CPQ investor, I'm new to this thread, as well. It is the strangest thread I've ever read. Do you fellas not have a good grasp of WHY you are invested in CPQ in the first place? I know exactly why I bought CPQ stock two days ago. I know why I no longer own Dell.

One reason I bought, in addition to the reasons, facts and figures which I've already cited in previous posts, is the fact that my spouse orders huge numbers of computers for one of the largest three or four computer centers in the U.S. My spouse used to order almost exclusively from Dell. Now orders more from CPQ. Spouse recommended to me that I order my new computer from CPQ, but I ordered from Dell instead---ONLY because my last computer was Dell and ONLY because I didn't care about cost. I have no reason to believe I would be less happy with a Compaq computer.

I hope everybody noticed that Michael Dell told the Street this week that his company will not be producing computers under $1,000 for a while yet. THAT won't go over too big with average home users, will it?

And yes, I agree with those who say INTC should be solid. I sold my INTC two days ago, because in only three weeks of ownership, beginning at 116, it had met my target price of $132. I intend to buy INTC again after it splits next week. My own research and the stock gurus to whom I listen say INTC has positioned itself to compete well in its field for a long time.
