Although I am an investor in QWST, I have long thought that they far underestimated the capacity demands. From my reading I believe they are only laying two conduit in most places ... if not throughout their system!

I also bought into Level3 quite a while back, because of several reasons. First, Jim Crowe left involvement with QWST to join LVLT ... that tells me that he disagreed with something they were doing, or felt that he could do something better. Second, from the beginning LVLT has been installing 7 or 8 conduit everywhere they go. QWST has been laying two. If you read the latest deal between LVLT and Time Warner(?), LVLT has even started to lease out "dark-conduit" which they have layed.

I don't think that QWST will "crumble" ... but I think that there are other companies that are going to go further!
