Ken -

Since you continued to point out the "gems" that what's his name has offered us, I thought I should point out a couple of things to you.

RR certainly didn't inform this thread about SuperDisk before anyone else. LS-120 and SuperDisk are the same product. LS-120 was being discussed on this thread at least six months before Rocky ever appeared.

Yes, he called SparQ a Jaz Killer. While it may have cost Iomega some sales, at this point SparQ is dead and Jaz is still selling. Rocky also said that the Shark drive, SuperDisk, CD-RW, CD-R, DVD-RAM, HiFD, etc. would kill Zip. Zip continues to sell well.

The biggest problems I have with Mr. Reid are:

1 He lies. I have caught him at it.

2 When caught at lying he will not even acknowledge the posts pointing it out.

3 The haranguing, sarcastic nature of his posts is inflammatory, yet he cries foul when someone gets mad at him.

Ken,

>> 1. Who was the first to call SparcQ the Jaz killer. (It was, and it killed Iomega and it's stock in 1998)? <<

I think it's more accurate to call SparQ a SyQuest killer. It hurt Iomega for a short period of time, but they survived.

>> 2. Who else (besides myself) pointed out the flaws, with backing data, on the ZIP OEM model? <<

The transition to the OEM model was the setback. On an ongoing basis, I contend that the OEM model will work.

>> 3. Who first told us about ORB? Superdisk? <<

And don't forget HiFUD, Caleb, etc. Superdisk is the only one that's even come close to making an impact on Iomega. The others have all pretty much been vapor.

>> 4. Who discussed mini-disk & flash vs. CLIK? <<

Arguing just one side of the story...

>> 5. Who actually read the CLIK! manual? <<

A number of people. I don't recall Rocky being one, but I could be wrong.

>> 6. Who poured over the CLIK! datasheet and compared to Flash? <<

Pointing out only the disadvantages and none of the advantages.

>> 7. LS-120? Click of death? <<

The LS-120 (Superdisk) has a Click of Death problem? I think I heard something about that.

Rocky has laid out only one side of the story, and is often inflammatory. He'll stumble across a fact once in a while, but even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Ken,

I think Allen and Michael have done a good job of answering the points in your previous posts.

I myself would call Rocky's posts a mixture of 20% fact, 70% spin always supporting one pre-ordained conclusion (Iomega is doomed) and 10% outright lies when there are no convenient facts at hand.

I do not think that is a credible or honest mixture and I have stopped reading most of his (their?) posts.

Which is not to mention the emotional tone of the posts: Rocky whines and gloats and harangues, often in the same post. He displays a remarkable mixture of petulance and arrogance.

So it is not fair to say "The fact is: You guys don't like him because he doesn't agree with your perspective. period."

Your posts have been equally bearish and have been treated respectfully (mostly) because your posts have been rational and credible.
