If the action(s)of person(s) & or company(ies) I am using as the driving factor became public the actions might indeed differ. When time studies were first installed in the American work place, the well meaning workers would "turn-it-on" to show off a production pace which not be sustained, resulting in required production numbers which resulted in a cost in product quality. Second generation studies resulted it the inverse reaction quality / production number ratio. In near every phase of life the human animal reacts in a different way from that which he/she would were they not "under study". I simply wish to assure those in "my study" to not know they are under scrutiny.
