Let me point out
or
We actually live where we are born.

Again, a simple reality.
Your opinion or thought is not required to make you a citizen of a NATO country, you are not required to pay any money, swear any oaths or do anything. You don't have to vote, you are not required to sign any forms. Any of the above facts may be modified by other things you do, ie. work -> pay taxes, vote -> for somebody, eat -> pay money.

Your contention that some people may be unaware of this whatdidjacallit is true. I would guess that almost 100% of Papuan New Guinea Highlanders are unaware of the whole thing, I do not envy them. I am glad to be here in Canada. I would make the rest of the world more like Canada if I could with a special emphasis placed upon the viewpoint maintained by residents of Saskatchewan.

It took a few hours, but I vowed to read every post on the board and did. Now I can leave it, feeling that I didn't miss anything. It seems to me:

1. This board is so filled with hate that it is as frightening as the conflict we are supposed to be disgusting. It is almost a cynical study in human attitudes.

2. It is primarily being used as:

a. an "I hate Clinton" board (several of those already exist)
b. listen to my jokes please; nobody else will
c. let me spout off my [often inaccurate; VERY often] bag of facts
d. a place to ridicule those who would like to help

There is hardly a note of sadness, hardly a syllable of compassion for the refugees OR the Serbian children in bomb shelters. Just mouth. So much mouth that it's sickening. A few bright people, a few intelligent postings. But it's not worth hours to dredge up one.

Too bad. People need a place where they can come and find information and ask questions. What they will find is simply how much most of us hate each other. Often in the unbelievable name of Christ or justice or honor or whatever.

Perhaps somewhere, on another planet, another galaxy, another time.
